This is a shower gel made as part of the Lush Kitchen community shower gels released in June of 2018. For a long time, anyone reading the comments on Lush Kitchen Instagram posts could see things requested in popular scents over and over again. Mark Consantine asked the community to tell him what they wanted and he agreed to choose five scents to make into shower gels. As we all hoped, the often requested scents were made into special shower gels by the Lush Kitchen. Some of them were remakes of old well-loved shower gels and some of them were brand new shower gel renditions of beloved scents.
American Cream is originally a hair conditioner that Lush fans love and new Lushies fawn over like babes in the woods. With all of the love it garners, it is not surprising that after countless requests to turn it into every number of products, American Cream scented shower gel has finally come out and it smells almost exactly the same as the conditioner. This release is the first time American Cream has ever been made into a shower gel and people are so excited.
The story goes that American Cream's scent was inspired by the hopping milkshake bars of 1950s America. By no means does this smell like a strawberry milkshake to Lady Bubble or Lord Fizz but it does have some distinct ingredients and qualities that can link it to that creamy dessert drink.
However, when you first smell this shower gel, it has a powdery soap smell. It isn't necessarily bad but for Lady Bubble and Lord Fizz that is the first element of non-milkshake we can detect. Following the first smell, a lingering examination will reveal notes of sweet vanilla and an almost creamy herbal clary sage smell. Past that, almost unnoticeable, are the lively smells of the fresh Orange and Strawberry juices. Tying all of these smells together, the creamy and fruity, is the Benzoin Resinoid, which is a fantastic smell. It gives a warm and sweet connection between the other smells tying this scent together.

This is undoubtedly a shower gel that Lady Bubble and Lord Fizz like but it sadly seems to be almost unremarkable. It has a very mild and almost indiscernible smell and in the shower, it does not perform any fantastic tricks of blossoming smell. It stays the same. It does include carrageenan extract which is the same great ingredient in Jelly Bombs and responsible for helping us leave the shower with such soft and hydrated skin.
This shower gel has been made in several different 'mixes' and color between the batches changes a lot. Ours is very pale but other batches have an almost fluorescent pink similar to the color of the 2016 valentine's day release Prince Charming. The pale pink version has a bit of separation as well. This is not an oily separation layer like we see in some of the other community released shower gels, instead it is a white precipitate like does easily get mixed back into a creamy consistency.
