Lush is a company that has expanded their product range into so many different directions. Sometimes, these expansions end up less popular and they get canceled somewhere down the line. Some of their expansion is phenomenal and they attract whole groups of fans, on their own. Lush's Gorilla Perfumes are one of those amazing products. Every one is potent, unique and strong. Sure, some smells are not suited to some people but the range and quality of perfumes that Lush makes are absolutely astonishing.

Devil's Nightcap 2017 Label |
Lady Bubble and Lord Fizz were given an amazing gift by a friend, two bottles of lovely Gorilla Perfumes. One of them from the Gorilla Volume 3 collection, Princess Cottongrass and a long-loved classic from the Gorilla Volume 2 collection, Devil's Nightcap. We thought it would be a kind gesture to appreciate these perfumes as much as possible and write about their every detail! So, in this post, we will explore the complicated smell of Devil's Nightcap!
Imagine walking in a forest. You are surrounded by tall, thick trees. Pinpoints of sunlight make a mosaic around you on the vibrant green moss that covers the ground. As you step your foot rests on a fallen log but it is not able to hold you and it splinters underfoot. The sudden smell of the sun's warmth, driving on humid-sweet decomposition rises. It meets the earthy smells of the moss and tree resins you disturbed. Together they are sweet and earthy, they are in a small glass bottle in your hand, they are Devil's Nightcap.
Devil's Nightcap is a smell that it is hard to dislike. It has elements of both traditional feminine and masculine smells. The top note is an earthy Oak coming from both Oak-moss and Oakwood oils. It is sweetened by the addition of Orange Flower oil and some other smells that you can detect but are hard to identify.
The smell lasts on your skin for only an hour or two before it begins to change. The earthy elements dissipate and leave only a sweet smell on your skin. You might not have any fans that can pick up on your perfume after you pass that initial period of potency, though. It does become very weak, very quickly, unfortunately.
The bottle itself is nothing too special. Its' simplicity is elegant though. It has a small and nondescript label with just the name in Lush's signature font. I would not say it stands out as powerful and individual in appearance but it is classy!
