Lush offers a wide variety of products to use in our daily washing and self-care routines and a body-scrub is one that is both useful and enjoyable to use. Using
ingredients like salt, sugar, coconut shell pieces or coarsely ground rice, a body scrub allows us to buff off our dead skin and tone the layer of young, supple skin underneath. A full and productive shower routine for Lady Bubble and Lord Fizz includes a scrub at least two or times a week, though excessive scrubbing can be a danger to our skin's health, scrubbing as directed can lead to healthy and brighter skin.
Around October 2018, Lush released two new fantastic scrubs to go along with their already popular, classic body scrubs: The Rough With The Smooth and Rub Rub Rub. One of these new Body-Scrubs is a sea salt-based scrub named Scrub Scrub Scrub. The name can be a little confusing when sold next to Rub Rub Rub. (Even while writing this, the name on the pot needs to be continually checked to make sure it is correctly referred too.)

300g pot of Scrub Scrub Scrub |
Scrub Scrub Scrub is a solid black coarse scrub, less watery and smooth than something like Ocean Salt but still easy to scoop out. The black color is the result of the inclusion of active charcoal as an ingredient and like other charcoal-included products, it can be a little difficult to use. It may not wash off with just running water and like the Dark Angels facial cleanser, it could take a little bit of rinsing to remove all of the remaining charcoal from your pores or body hair. You may also find that it sticks to the tiles or grout in your bathroom but with very minimal effort it can be rinsed away.
Made with a bevy of fresh and beneficial ingredients like Lime Puree, Blackberry Puree, Black Currant Oil, Buchu Oil, Rosemary Oil and Pine Oil the scent of this product is earthy and fruity. Its scent has a fresh fruit element that is observable through the calming and dark scents of the charcoal, pine and rosemary. The sweetness of the lime and the blackcurrant persist as an almost honey like quality. To the nose of Lady Bubble and Lord Fizz, it smells almost exactly like used hookah tobacco or moassel. This smell ends up being enjoyable and relaxing but is such a unique smell that it is almost distracting.

Lord Fizz getting his scrub on |
The charcoal and rosemary as well as, the antiseptic properties of salt are an excellent antibacterial agent. Working together, they are a powerful skin clarifying team. Lord Fizz can see a noticeable decrease of blemishes on his skin after using this product. Additionally, the salt (working in its main capacity) pine oil and the acidic elements of the lime juice are all effective toning agents, leaving your skin tight and healthy. Really, the ingredients in this scrub are very effective for acne prone bodies or those with oily skin. Even using this after a work out can really be useful at cleaning off the residue left by sweat.
When using it on your skin, you will notice a distinct toned and tightened feeling after you rinse and a softness that lingers. You might almost feel like you don't need any lotion or moisturizer but that is the hydrating effect of the salt and as your skin dries out, you may need to apply of a final layer of lotion to your freshly scrubbed skin. If you have any sensitive areas of skin or blemishes you will quickly notice them as you may have a little sting from the salt. This could be perceived as harshness in the product or just an effective cleansing element.
Scrub Scrub Scrub is a fantastic product, it works very well as a cleansing and toning skin product. Sadly, the staining qualities of the charcoal can be a huge detractor for some. Lord Fizz doesn't mind it nearly as much as Lady Bubble. It is almost unusable for her.
