When October get's close Lush releases their Halloween range. Despite attempts to make this range spooky, it usually ends up being a very cute range with lots of cute little monsters and spooky critters. Except for Father's Day, the Halloween range is usually the smallest. This is mainly because the Christmas range is so big and so close to October. This year Halloween has a lot of returning products and only a few new ones.
Monster's Ball is a returning product this year and is very popular product, at that. It was originally made in 2016 and has been remade with little to no change for all of that time. It is a very fun product because of the eye which is often moved and changed (accidentally) by the people who make it. You can see a Monster's Ball with a sexy come-hither eye or a grumpy eye roll in the same batch and that personality makes them so cute! Monster's Ball is a new version of the old Halloween favorite, The Enchanter, which had the same smell.
This bath bomb has a pretty pink body and two bright blue horns on its head. It also has, as we mentioned, one big vegan candy eye making this into a cyclopean monster. These colors really stand out in a Halloween display dominated by earthy autumn tones. Monster's Ball is really one of the cutest bath bombs that Lush comes out with and its' simplicity makes it hard to feel anything but love towards.

The scent of Monster's Ball is a version of the very popular Calacas smell, from Lush. This is the same smell that we saw in the Man in the Moon Bubble Bar, last Christmas and the same smell that has been requested in body lotion and shower gel formats by so many lush fans for the Lush Community releases. It is difficult to say what the most popular Lush product is but in the community of Lush fans, Calacas is one of the most popular smells. The smell of Monster's Ball is definitely a second firm reason its' popularity.
The Monster's Ball smell is composed of Lime, Neroli and Olibanum oils. Lime being a sweet and lovely citrus smell and olibanum doubling down on the sweet and adding a bit of sugary and fruity smells make the scent of this product both sweet and citrus. It is often compared to the smell of lime candies or gummies. There is also an unnamed 'fragrance' component to the smell of this bath bomb but just considering the scents of lime and olibanum together almost completes the puzzle of this fragrance.

Monster's Ball has a bright blue core with some silver synthetic mica that makes a really pretty spiral pattern of pink and blues in the water as it dissolves. This bath bomb always makes top tier bath art as it spins. When it is all finished, this bath bomb will make a wonderful shimmery purple bath water. The sparkles are very nice too as they float in the water.
This is really an outstanding product, the smell is amazing, the bath art is good and it is not a wildly expensive product. We will always buy more when we see them. One should be careful of the eye when buying them as with other eye included products, it can make some moisture bleeding and water damage to the bath bomb as it is stored over time. That being said, of the 5 monster's ball we have used in 2 years, we have never had a dud or a bad quality one.
