Flying Fox

This is a shower gel made as part of the Lush Kitchen community shower gels released in June of 2018.  For a long time, anyone reading the comments on Lush Kitchen Instagram posts could see things requested in popular scents over and over again.  Mark Consantine asked the community to tell him what they wanted and he agreed to choose five scents to make into shower gels. As we all hoped, the often requested scents were made into special shower gels by the Lush Kitchen.  Some of them were remakes of old well-loved shower gels and some of them were brand new shower gel renditions of beloved scents.

Flying Fox is a shower gel that has been remade in this release.  It was a regular line shower gel in the past and this remaking of it has given the chance for some new Lush fans to try out this legendary Lush product. Lady Bubble and Lord Fizz are so grateful for this glimpse into some of the retro products they missed.  The name is a little bit of a mystery to us but recently, after a trip to Australia, we may have found a meaning for the curious name. There is a huge bat that lives in Australia, one of the largest bats in the world that shares the same name as this shower gel! Now, what the connection between a fruit bat and a shower gel is ...well, we just don't know.  Honestly, we hope they do share a name because those animals are so amazing.

Though, the name of this product could be a totally different one from that of the bat and be more related to its smell.  It could be that this shower gel has a delightful uplifting floral bouquet that really makes you feel like your flying and being lifted up by individual happy flying flowers! You are the flying fox soaring from your shower.

The scent of this shower gel may be uplifting to us but it can verge on a little too heady for some.  It is made with a lot of strong floral smells, including jasmine and ylang-ylang.  To describe the smell.   imagine that it is the height of spring and lot of fresh young blossoms have begun to open after a warm rain. The humidity and wind have collected their scents and brought a perfume to your nose. Expect instead of humidity tying the scents together it is a sweet blend of 4 different honeys. (Those 4 kinds of honey are also the most abundant ingredients in this shower gel, by far.) The floral smells mixed in this shower gels are distinctly individual, as well. Though some may think so, to us, in no way is this a heavy smell.  Lady Bubble and Lord Fizz smelled this over in over while dissecting the smell and never sunk into some headache-inducing floral bog.

When you use this in the shower the scent explodes with freshness and is really undeniably amazing.  It foams well too and also has a lot of honey in it that gives it a great golden color. Because of this great honey content, it is very moisturizing and you do not need to use a lotion after the shower.  Even though it is mostly made with honey it is not too thick.  Though, It is thicker than a lot of the other community shower gels but not to the point that it becomes difficult to use.
