This is a shower gel made as part of the Lush Kitchen community shower gels released in June of 2018. For a long time, anyone reading the comments on Lush Kitchen Instagram posts could see things requested in popular scents over and over again. Mark Consantine asked the community to tell him what they wanted and he agreed to choose five scents to make into shower gels. As we all hoped, the often requested scents were made into special shower gels by the Lush Kitchen. Some of them were remakes of old well-loved shower gels and some of them were brand new shower gel renditions of beloved scents.
Avocado Wash is a smell that is new to the shower gel format and honestly a scent that was unexpected. Lord Fizz is a huge fan of Avocado Co-wash and even if he doesn't have the right hair type to use it, he does love the effect of that product and most definitely the smell. So, naturally, Lord Fizz was ecstatic to hear that this was one of the scents being redesigned as a shower gel. However, the other half of our brave bath exploring duo, Lady Bubble, can not stand the scent as a co-wash but somehow enjoys this one a little bit more.
Lady Bubble and Lord Fizz both agree on the elements of the scent of this gel but there is just a difference of opinion on whether or not those scents are good or not. It is a complicated and multilayered smell that is in no means nauseating or overbearing but still heavy. It has a fresh citrus fruit smell that is softened by the creamy scent of avocado and the fruity warm smell of olibanum. Avocado Wash can be described as limey-citrus and creamy concoction that really stands out from the rest Lush's other scents!
When Lady bubble and Lord Fizz smell this, they are taken back to memories of younger years. Lady Bubble remembers a kind of Korean penny candy which she insists smells exactly like the shower gel. Lord Fizz connects this smell to his lime cheesecake memories. The smell of lime changes after it is boiled and loses its edge and gains a sweetness. That smell of cooked lime and the cheesecake crust are the perfect embodiment of this shower gels perfume.
When you use this shower gel the smell does not change too much but it does magnify. You don't smell a very strong smell when you squirt it out of the bottle but after it suds up it smells much stronger. This is also a great moisturizing shower gel and you do not need to slather up the lotion after you shower.
This is another separating shower gel and maybe the worst seperater of the bunch. It pulls apart into almost a 50/50 mix of oils and emulsified gel base. Most pictures we have seen show this quality for most of the Avocado Washes out there.
