Mother's Day 2018 marked a new era for Lush product design. The new 3-D printed mold soaps, the frivolous design of the Mum, Look What I've Made For You bath bomb, among others, has really shown us a new side of Lush. One of these paradigm-changing products seems to be the Marbled Bubbleroons. While bubbleroons are no new thing for Lady Bubble and Lord Fizz, the design of these is quite striking and new. Notably, the loudest voices at the time of the first leaked pictures of them all said they were a departure from Lush style and not what a true Lush fan would want. However, those voices quickly found that they had stuck their feet in the mouth as the popularity of most of the Mother's Day range has been tremendous.

Mother of Pearl |
Here is one of these new-style products, The Mother of Pearl Marbled Bubbleroon. The name is a mouth full and the scent is a nose full! Scented like Rub Rub Rub or Sakura Bath bomb, this sweet floral smell is an entrancing spring scent. Light and fruity, with sweet and fresh floral undertones the smell of Mother of Pearl is a composition that truly evokes the thought of a warm spring breeze carrying the delicate scent of fresh blossoms.
Made with Jasmine and Mimosa oils and Orange Flower absolute this smell is one that both Lord Fizz and Lady Bubble enjoy. While it is not on the top of their list, due to the weak nature of its scent, this bubbleroon could really find a loving home with someone more sensitive to strong smells.
Like any bubbleroon, this one is made with two pieces of bubble bar sandwiching a thick layer of softening murumuru butter and shea butter. The light blue color of this bubbleroon is very special indeed and not one that can be seen too often in the Lush repertoire. Be careful though, as Lush blues typically do fade after some time without proper storage and care.

The color of this bubbleroon translates to the
water well and leaves the bather with a bright, almost neon, blue bath water. Plus, the addition of all of the extra kinds of butter in Mother of Pearl will make that electric blue dip a thoroughly moisturizing one too. If you are looking for an exciting bright bath color, this little bubble stack can surely provide.
The marbling part of this product comes from the potentially beautiful piece of art on top of the bubbleroon. It is made by dipping the top of the completed bubble sandwich into a cornstarch mixture after dripping some blue and purple coloring into the bowl holding the mixture. As this mixture is made very much so, by hand, it really does leave a lot of room for artistic potential and, on the other hand, a chance for the ugly monster to slip in. So far, Lady Bubble and Lord Fizz have bought three of these bubble bars and none of them have been as beautiful as the ones shown on the websites.
It is hard to not recommend this product. It smells great, produces a great bath and could be very beautiful. Word of caution to the savvy shopper though, check your marbling before you buy or you could end up with a plain smear of blue on top of your Mother of Pearl.
