Lush can be pretty brutal sometimes with the way they suddenly discontinue products that are well loved and part of people's self-care routine. You can almost always hear the audible moan from the fans after something is discontinued because despite how unpopular it may seem to you, there is undoubtedly a bastion of die-hard fans out there that are going to be crushed to see something go. Valentine's Day 2018 saw a product return that was never a favorite of Lord Fizz but was seriously missed by Lady Bubble and that is Tisty Totsy.
Perfect for Valentine's Day or a romantic rendesvousz, this bath bomb is based off an old love spell. Supposedly, bathing in a bath drawn with seven roses, vinegar, salt and lemon juice will make you irresitible to anyone you aim yourself at. The smell of this bath bomb is certainly romantic though, even without the charm of magic.
Made with both and rose, geranium, jasmine and orris root, this bath bomb has a sweet floral smell with a slightly fresh and green note. The smell is less sweet than Rose Jam or Rose Argan but still sweeter than the floral powerhouse Joy of Jelly. It is not a bad smell by any means but one that Lord Fizz found a nonentity in the wall of smells that present themselves to you in a Lush store. Lady Bubble, on the other hand, was enchanted by it and exctied to see it return when it came back to stores for the holiday range.
In the bath this version of Tisty Totsy does much better than the older version, being made with two colors that contrast very well. The old one was kind of a bland white bath bomb with only its scent, and rose buds to enliven your bath experience but now, the pink and wite make a lovely display of rings as it fizzes and foams away in the water. Tisty Totsy's is not the most exciting bath bombto have dancing across your bath tub but is is much better than a cloudy faint white, that we have seen before.
The Lush inventor responsible for redesigning this product is the wonderful Gary Sears. He discussed at length, on his instagram account, the internal debate he had with how to sectiopn the pink and white sections in the bomb. In the end, he believed that placing the white section on the bottom gave this bath bomb a better potential for bath art.
This version of Tisty Totsy does also seem to have a longer bubble-life than the old one. Lady Bubble and Lord Fizz clocked theirs in at a solid two minutes, whereas before, the bath bomb seemed to fizz away in less than one. The rose buds will of course float onto the top of the water (with the rare occasion of a sinker) and can be easily collected to make your bath water free of relaxation obstructions. You can also use this bath bomb in a strainer to collect the rose buds before they go free in your water.
With an agreeable price tag, a lovely smell and a swirl of pink of white, this bath bomb is one that we can hardly close the door of our hearts to. Maybe we have been entranced by its love magic!
