Finally, Lush has heard the cries of Lady Bubble and Lord Fizz and released a range of products with a lovely variety of smells. Mother's Day does have some exciting and new smells but some of them have not been as well received as others. There are some safe bets too, with two products being scented with Twilight! Antiope Naked Shower Cream is one of those that has a new smell and a could easily fall into the category of "very well loved" for some Lush fans.

The smell of this shower cream is surely something new and uses some ingredients that Lush has rarely if ever, used before. Named after the exotic queen of the Amazons, this shower creme has many products that are likewise exotic and previously unknown to the Lushies of the world. Featuring scent elements like Pequi oil, Galbanum Oil, and Sweet Orange Oil, it is truly a new smell that many people may be unfamiliar with. It seems that the most outstanding smell, from the dry product, is the Galbanum Oil.
If you have never smelled it, you can find Galbanum oil in most essential oil store's repertoire. It is used as a medicinal oil but it does have a very unique scent profile. Imagine a hot summer day, the air seems thick with humidity and the sun is so bright you have to keep your head down. As you trudge along you find the shrub you have been asked to remove from your mother's garden. With one yank, you pull out the knee high bush and the smells of the damp cool soil clinging to the broken roots, the resins from the woody branches, crushed in your hand, swirl up in the heat and waft into your nose. That smell might be as close to describing Galbanum that you can get and as close to the dry smell of Antiope shower cream as you can get as well.
Once you lather up this pale yellow product, the slightly sweet smell of the Pequi oil and the fruity Sweet Orange Oil start to stand out. The product shifts from woody and earthy to a sweeter and more soothing smell. It is a smell that is very dominant of many others but does match well with some of the other smells in the Mother's Day range.

So far, the naked shower creams have tempted the hydration seekers of the world by at least being labeled as 'cream.' Which, is a name that would seem to imply more hydration, however, this shower cream does seem to be less moisturizing than the Tender is The Night shower cream that we got for Valentine's day.
It does include White Amazonian Clay though which is a wonderful gentle cleanser. In the shower, this shower cream is as good as any other gel or product but it does have one downside...pigmentation! This stuff is yellow, like very yellow. Touching it with a dry hand in a humid environment can prove to be an experience in finger painting more quickly than you might expect.
It is a nice calming color of yellow at least, so if it stains your skin or your towels, at least it will be a pretty stain! The shape of this shower cream is nothing special and the uniqueness of its smell is the only thing that it really has going for it. It is not at the top of our list as shower product to have but it is by no means the failure that some people have labeled it as.
