Unicorn Horn

Lavender is in! For at least the last 2,500 years at least. Lavender has been at the pinnacle of fragrance and firmly rooted in the pantheon of botanical deities for longer than anyone can remember.  This wonderful blossom is found all over the world and is used by cultures not only as a fragrance but as a medicinal product as well.  Lush has capitalized on this well-loved flower and they now use it in so many of their products!

Unicorn Horn is a bubble bar that Lush has made since 2015.  With each year seeing it released in different shapes and colors.  However, each one has had mostly the same scent.  The smell of this bubble bar is hard to not love. It is made with Lavender, Neroli and Ylang Ylang oil in just the right proportions to create the magic of this mythical bubble bar. Altogether, it is a sweet lavender scent that has similarities to Lush's Deep Sleep shower jelly.

It is not often that you find a bubble bar that does not do as its name suggest and does not produce piles and piles of popping luxurious bubbles. Thankfully, these magical body parts do not disappoint. When you use them alone in the water, they produce a faint pink bath water and they are very good at making bubbles too. Lady Bubble and Lord Fizz usually do not use them alone as they want a more vibrant color of water but you could definitely use them on their own if you please.

Unicorn Horn is a fantastic product.  Its colors, luster, and scent are great.  It works well and is a good size for their price.  On their own, we can not raise any problems with these products.  However, Lush has begun a trend that these bubble bars are a part of and one that we cannot fully get behind. That trend is the simplification of their smells.  This bubble bar may be a precursor of the trend (being three years old) but so many times of Lush's new releases are either lavender or citrus and it is getting a little boring.

Despite enjoying this bubble bar's color, shape, and general feel, it is one that does not land on our "stockpile" list.  Its smell is just too plain for us.  However, if you enjoy a sweet lavender smell and the other lavender offerings form Lush do note sate your appetite, give this one a try.  You may just be enchanted by the unicorn's horn.
